Printed folder Visual Schedules for the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom

$12.00

Description

Like our laminated version, but this printed version comes in a set of 5. While these menu paper folders are not as durable as the laminated Visual Schedule, they are more formal and easier to store.

Use this visual schedule to help orient attention throughout the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom.

Visual Schedules track important transitions and movements, so they are an effective attention aid that can go along with other liturgical supports such as service books or picture books. Because the order of the service is laid out in a list format, it’s easier to track the group plan than when turning pages or looking at pictures in books. People with time agnosia find it helpful to navigate the lists to set their expectations of “how much longer” or “when do we get to go to Communion?,” and the group plan nature of the schedule makes it easier to redirect people whose attention wanders. We find it helpful to point to a number and say, “The group plan is to ___,” naming the action in the schedule, or “It’s the choir’s turn to sing,” or, “Three more steps until we sing your favorite hymn/go to receive Holy Communion,” and so on.

This visual schedule is available as a free printable from Summer Kinard’s website on the Disability Resources page.
